Along the mighty Mississippi River lies 150 years of education legacy in central Minnesota. From its humble beginnings, the Third State Normal School in St. Cloud flourished quickly. Among the first schools in the state, it matured from a single renovated hotel to the expansion of two campuses across two cities in present day.

While the name has changed over time, the education institute now known as St. Cloud State University (SCSU) has kept its commitment in educational excellence to its students. While education is placed first in an academia setting, culture will always be the center of the memories of its students.

The present is the reflection of the past at SCSU. Therefore, the future is the reflection of the present. On October 15, 2018, SCSU welcomed its first permanent woman president, Robbyn Wacker. As the university is embarking on a new discourse, it is cultivating its new culture.

“As your president, I believe there is no greater service than to be one more person to advance our mission. This is our time as stewards of our university to envision and build the 21st century St. Cloud State… So let’s go,” said Wacker in her speech during the presidential inauguration.
To what the memories future SCSU students might create is to what we build today. So unleash amazing!
